The Diploma in Multimedia Design aims to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform effectively in the Graphic Design and Digital Media industries. The purpose of the qualification is to provide students with the ability to design and produce original graphic design work for web, interactive and print-based productions.

On successful completion of the programme, graduates will be able to seek careers in freelance, contract or permanent staff within commercial companies of varying sizes. The graduates will have the competencies to perform graphic design work for print, web and interactive media productions.

The minimum programme duration is 3 years and the maximum duration is 5 years. Tuition is face to face. City Varsity tuition is scheduled per campus. Programmes are offered during the week on a full-time basis.

On successful completion of the programme, you will receive a Diploma in Multimedia Design and Production.

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Diploma endorsement, or
• A National Certificate Vocational (NCV) at NQF Level 4 with Diploma endorsement, or
• A Senior Certificate (SC), with minimum 33,3% for English, or
• Amended Senior Certificate (ASC), with Diploma endorsement, or
• Have met all the requirements of the National Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and successfully completed a Higher Certificate or similar qualification at NQF level 5, or
• Foreign School leaving Certificate that complies with minimum admission requirements for Diploma study as gazetted. An equivalency evaluation must be completed through the Matriculation Board; or
• RPL /CAT ( as per admission policy), or
• Age Exemption (23 years or older as per admission policy)
