All our courses require a Matric (Grade 12) Certificate (or equivalent) with a pass equivalent for the type of qualification wanting to be studied. You will also be required to undergo a written evaluation with your application. Some departments (listed below) have additional entry criteria.

You may have work experience, skills or competencies that directly relate to the qualification you wish to register for. With Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), what you have learnt and acquired can translate into subject credits. Contact CityVarsity to find out more.

 

If you…

have a South African Senior Certificate with a Matric Endorsement

OR

have a South African National Senior Certificate with at least four of these subjects with a rating of 4 (50-59%) or more:

  1. Accounting
  2. Agricultural Sciences
  3. Business Studies
  4. Dramatic Arts
  5. Economics
  6. Engineering Graphics and Design
  7. Geography
  8. History
  9. Information
  10. Technology
  11. Languages (one being English)
  12. Life Sciences
  13. Mathematics
  14. Mathematical Literacy
  15. Music
  16. Physical Sciences
  17. Religious Studies
  18. Visual Arts


Then the answer is YES!

If you…

have a South African Senior Certificate with a Matric Endorsement

OR

have a South African National Senior Certificate with at least four of these subjects with a rating of 3 (40-49%) or more:

  1. Accounting
  2. Agricultural Sciences
  3. Business Studies
  4. Dramatic Arts
  5. Economics
  6. Engineering Graphics and Design
  7. Geography
  8. History
  9. Information Technology
  10. Languages (one being English)
  11. Life Sciences
  12. Mathematics
  13. Mathematical Literacy
  14. Music
  15. Physical Sciences
  16. Religious Studies
  17. Visual Arts


Then the answer is YES!

To qualify you will need to have completed a diploma at NQF level 6 in the specified area that includes a 120 credit Work Integrated Learning component.

  • The same registration requirements for local applicants apply to foreign applicants. However, foreign applicants must submit copies of their passports instead of ID documents when enrolling. You will also need a valid study permit and SAQA verified qualifications.

  • For further information in this regard, please contact our student consultants at the campus of your choice. Alternatively, you can make an appointment to meet with a student consultant at that campus.

Unfortunately, we don’t at present. However, we offer a number of industry-recognised short courses with a similar focus to our degrees and diplomas.
