The Bachelor of Arts in Sound and Music Technology offered at City Varsity provides students with advanced knowledge, general principles, and advanced practical skills to succeed in the field of sound engineering and music production at job entry level.

In addition, this qualification will articulate vertically to arts-related programmes pegged at NQF level 8 by ensuring learning preparedness and equipping them with the skills required to succeed in higher levels of study.

The minimum programme duration is 3 years and the maximum duration is 5 years. Tuition is face to face. City Varsity tuition is scheduled per campus. Programmes are offered during the week on a full-time basis.

On successful completion of the programme, you will receive a Bachelor of Arts in Sound and Music Technology.

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Degree endorsement, or
• A National Certificate Vocational (NCV) at NQF Level 4 with Degree endorsement, or
• A Senior Certificate (SC), with University Exemption, or
• Amended Senior Certificate (ASC), with Degree endorsement, or
• Have met all the requirements of the National Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and a successfully completed a Higher Certificate or similar qualification at NQF level 5, or
• Foreign School leaving Certificate that complies with minimum admission requirements for degree study as gazetted. An equivalency evaluation must be completed through the Matriculation Board; or
• RPL /CAT ( as per admission policy), or
• Age Exemption (23 years or older as per admission policy).
