This short course in Sound Engineering is designed to provide students with the foundation theory and basic skills and know-how of sound engineering, including how to set up and record in a studio, mix audio, use effects & processors, and do basic post-production in ProTools®. Lectures are presented in a ProTools® Sound Lab equipped with Mac workstations, each with a ProTools® soundcard. Students will have projects to complete during this six-week course and their work will be assessed. COURSE OUTLINE

Job Opportunities Successful graduates might well be able to setup their own home studio, or work as an entry-level assistant engineer at a commercial studio, or in a radio or television station. They could record demo albums, record and produce their own work, or work as an engineer for a company that does live sound. |
