Marius van Vuren started out studying Personnel Management however he realised he has a creative side and so went on and became the overseer of events for Marie Claire, Rooi Rose, SAFA, Walter Sisulu Memorial.

Marius was part owner of a florist and enjoyed it immensely due to the high level of creative expression. He then joined the Marketing Team at CityVarsity and attended short courses that enabled him to assist in the art direction of local rock group Juggernaught’s music video “My Daddy’s Land” produced & directed by Chris Hall in conjunction with CityVarsity. Marius is now committed to promoting CityVarsity, Newtown’s short courses & assisting the team to reach targets.

Tanya Meggersee Meggersee, Tanya
(Receptionist and admin/sales assistant)

Tanya is a hard worker and is motivated by the staff and students that she works with on a daily basis. She is always willing to grab any task at hand. Tanya loves interacting with people and is a good people’s person. She is currently the Receptionist/Admin and Sales Assistant (you name it she can do it) at CityVarsity.

Franscois Kruger Kruger, Franscois
(Student Consultant)

After matriculating from Belfast Academy in 2000, Franscois moved to the ‘Big City’ to further his studies. He graduated from the University of Venda in Pretoria in 2004 with a B.Com Degree in Hospitality Management and Culinary Sciences.

Franscois then pursued his career within the Hospitality Industry all across the world from 2000 to 2011. His duties included Facilitation, Lecturing, Client Services and Relations, Staff Training and Development, Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations, among others.

He completed an assignment in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania in 2010 at a 5-Star Hotel and Resort as the Operations Manager and after a well-deserved break he joined the CityVarsity team, where his dual passions of both Sales and Teaching have a great chance to bloom.

Lydia Dhlamini Dhlamini, Lydia
(Finance And Sales Admin)

Campus:  Newtown

After leaving high school Lydia studied Bookkeeping through Damelin Correspondence and completed Call Centre studies with Career Computer College.

Lydia joined D.J’s Agency in Randburg where she did extra casting work for Generations and Egoli. She started working at CityVarsity in 2008. Here she learnt more about the arts, entertainment and media. She has completed a TV Presenting Short Course with CityVarsity.

Apart from TV presenting she also performed in front of the camera and was interviewed for the short film “A Coward Dies a Thousand Times”. Lydia has always believed that she was born to become a great entertainer. Not saying that she wants to become an actress rather she wants to create her own television talk show to encourage young women.
